What is HPNAP?

Almost 35% of New York's residents have incomes at or below 200% of the and may be eligible for federal food assistance programs such as . But these programs do not adjust for New York State's higher costs for housing, utilities and food. HPNAP helps to fill this gap.

For more than 30 years, HPNAP has provided state and federal funds to improve the quality of food distributed to an estimated 2,500 Emergency Food Relief Organizations (EFRO) in New York State. These EFROs include food banks, food pantries, soup kitchens and emergency shelters which have provided more than 239 million meals each year to people who are in need.
